Change the World
Cassi Clark, 2000
by yelling “Live naturally,”
in a synthetic shirt, at grocery store.
“Boycott Dow’s bad chemicals.”
Oregon’s famous tree huggers
chain themselves to their cause
to share the plight of helpless trees
and owls, and enjoy the fame
from newspaper articles that travelers
read in public restrooms that only
have paper towels.
Sitting in a traffic jam on I-5
earth conscious bumper stickers
entertain. Save the whales, trees,
cowboys, hippies. Environmentalists
doing their part like the driver who
just flicked a cigarette out his window.
