Spectacular Fire Run
On the afternoon of September 6, at 4:30 o'clock, all the fire apparatus in use in the Denver Fire Department made a spectacular fire run from their various stations to Eight- eenth avenue and Broadway. The total number of wagons, engines, trucks and au- tomobiles was thirty-nine. They were not going to a fire, but were on dress parade and for inspection by the members of the fire and police board and Chief Healy. The department lined up along Broadway occupying the entire length between Seventeenth and Nineteenth avenues.
Every fireman was in his place on the wagon, engine or truck, dressed in his best and newest uniform; the horses looked spick and span, and the various pieces of apparatus were shined up as never before. The wagons formed in a line along the cen- ter of the street and the firemen stood alongside in a military attitude.
The inspection was performed by the fire and police board—President A. A. Blakley, Fire Commissioner T. F. McGrew, Police Commissioner George Creel and Chief of the Fire Department John F. Healy. The equipment consisted of 18 hose wagons, 9 engines, 5 hook and ladder trucks, 1 line wagon, 1 supply wagon, and 5 chief autos.
The purpose of the inspection was to see that every part of the equipment was in condition for the exhibits to be made next week at the convention of the International As- sociation of Fire Chiefs.
This convention will be held in Denver, September 17 to 20. An excellent program has been arranged for the entertainment of the visitors. On the evening of Wednesday, the 18th, there will be an illuminated fire run on Fourteenth street, and, immediatel following this, an exhibition on the training tower at Fourteenth and Market streets.

Tuesday, September 17
9:30 a.m.—Assemble at the auditorium to have picture taken by the official photogra- pher.
10:00 a. m.—Form in procession headed by band and march to the convention hall at Albany hotel. Convention opened with prayer by Rev. Edward J. Berry, S.J. Welcome on behalf of the city by Mayor Henry J. Ar- nold and Fire Commissioner McGrew. Re- sponse in behalf of the convention by the president and other members.
2:00 p.m.—Business session. 2:30 p.m.—Automobile ride for the ladies. 8:00 p.m.—Memorial services at the convention hall at the Albany in honor of the departed members of the association. Mem- orial oration by the Hon. W. J. L. Crank.
Wednesday, September 18
EXHIBITORS' DAY Exhibits in Main Hall of the Auditorium
9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p. m.—Practical tests of the fire apparatus.
11:00 a.m.—Automobile ride for ladies to Mount Morrison and return under the aus- pices of the Denver Motor Club.
7:30 p.m.—Illuminated fire run on Four- teenth street.
7:45 p.m.—Illuminated exhibition drill on training tower at Fourteenth and Market streets.
8:30 p.m.—Theatre party for ladies.
9:00 p.m.—Smoker for visiting chiefs at the convention hall at Albany hotel.
Thursday, September 19
8:30 a.m.—Moffat Road trip.
8:30 p.m.—Business session at Albany hotel. Informal dance at hotel.
Friday, September 20
9:00 a.m.—Business session.
10:00 a. m—Shopping trip for ladies, start- ing from the Albany.
2:00 p.m.—Exhibition at training tower.
8:00 p. m.—Illuminated parade of fire ap- paratus through the main business streets.
