The Backs Upon Which We Women Stand
This is an address made at the Congress of Women, held in the Woman's Building, World Columbian Exposition, Chicago, 1893 by Mrs. Lydia Prescott a professional teacher, native of Michigan. She was educated in Grand Rapids, Mich., and Denmark Academy, Iowa. So much of what she says holds true in America today, particularly among the "conservative" cultures dominated by men who impose the inferiority of women to fulfill their own power. Let us all take note and understand that
