May 21, Thurston high, 1998

By Cassi Clark

Blessed is the man who perseveres

La Bouche “Wanna be my lover”

pounds into my dreams, the bass

amazingly good for a clock radio.

The DJ gives the morning news:

“An expelled student with two handguns

and a rifle fired on other students

this morning in the Thurston High

School cafeteria…” under trial,

because when he has stood the test,

23 injuries: head, chest and stomach wounds

one dead and the killer’s parents.

Bless those who persecute you;

bless and curse not, Kristina's

brother's best friend was shot. I cry but

I don't know any of them, or anyone

in the other ten school shootings.

Pearl, Grayson, Redlands, Blackville,

Lynnville, Bethel, Moses Lake, Jonesboro,

West Paducah Amityville. I guess

the expelled boy watches the news. He will receive

the crown of life, that God has promised

to those who love Him. Maybe his story will

be on the next episode of The Simpsons;

maybe the next story-line will be the five

year-old that brought a gun to school.
